Know what your car
is actually doing.

Codriver plugs into the diagnostic port every car built since 2001 already has, and turns what it finds into something you can act on — while you drive, and afterwards.

It reads the car

Live speed, revs, coolant, fuel and consumption over a standard Bluetooth or Wi-Fi OBD-II adapter — and every fault code the ECU has stored, in plain language rather than as a number to go and search for.

It remembers

Trips log themselves. Fill-ups become real fuel economy, measured full tank to full tank. Service items come due on distance or on time, whichever arrives first, and say so before they are overdue.

It knows who can fix it

A directory of workshops across Zambia — who does clutches, who does injection work, who can talk to a Japanese-market body computer — sorted by how far away they are.

The problem this solves

A warning light is not information.

A light on the dashboard tells you that something is wrong and nothing else. The car knows more than that — it knows which sensor, on which bank, and what it read at the moment it gave up. It has been able to tell you since 2001. It just has not been asked.

Codriver asks. Then it tells you what the code means, how urgent it is, and — this is the part that matters at the side of the road — which workshops near you handle that kind of fault.

What you see instead

System too lean, bank 1

Usually a vacuum leak, a dirty MAF sensor or a weak fuel pump. Not an emergency; get it looked at.

Two apps

Codriver and Companion

Codriver

For the person who owns the car. Diagnostics, trip log, fuel economy, service reminders, an assistant you can ask in plain words, and the workshop directory.

About Codriver

Companion

For the person who needs the lift. It matches you with drivers already making your journey, agrees a fare before anyone moves, and hands over phone numbers only once a lift is actually agreed.

About Companion

Companion was called Hiker while it was being built. Same app, clearer name.
